A few years ago, two artists decided to turn their "empty nest" into an art center.
A big house on a big hill with a big view, there's a special energy here that attracts creative people. Peaceful and relaxing, it is a place for artists to gather, to create
and to share their special gifts and love of art.

About the owners
One artist married to another is a good thing. Pat LaBrecque and Dennis Rechcygl have shared a passion for art since they met in Milwaukee over 25 years ago. They found each other while Pat was finishing up her art degree at the University of Wisconsin and Dennis, who also graduated from the same school with a BFA in Fine Art, was sculpting museum diorama figures in at North Light Studio in downtown Milwaukee. When funding for museum work dried up, Dennis went back to college and earned a degree in mechanical design.
Pat, a New Hampshire native, was homesick and Dennis was ready for a change. They moved back to the area around 1990 and settled in. Within a year they adopted three children and moved their new family to their present home in Goffstown, NH. Here Pat and the kids raised sheep, goats, chickens and donkeys and grew vegetables while Dennis went to work for Raytheon in Massachusetts and spent most weekends helping out.
It was a busy life with little time for creative pursuits, but their interest in art never faded. Once the kids grew up and moved on, the livestock was sold, life simplified and began anew. Today art is central to their lives once again. Dennis is sculpting a series of figures and Pat is painting and running Black Brook Gallery.
They live with their cat, Miss Lizzy and German Shepherd, Bacchus.
