Students enjoying Michael's demo

Michael's two previous workshops at Black Brook Gallery with NH Plein Air were held in the spring.
This year's workshop will be in the autumn to paint all the glorious colors of the season.

During the four day workshop (en plein aire if weather allows, and in studio if not) Michael will guide us in plein air explorations of the autumn landscape, alternating his demonstrations between both oil and pastel. He'll show us how to capture the essence of the landscape quickly, how to use intuitive color, and how to follow up with as much detail as needed to achieve the degree of
realism desired.

Every level of student is welcome, and students may work in oil or pastel or both (please specify your medium on the registration form). Each session will start with a demonstration, followed by plenty of student work and personal help at the easel. Michael's style is relaxed and easy-going, but participants will learn a lot! We'll paint outdoors as much as possible, but in the event of inclement weather, we will work indoors in the spacious studio space at Black Brook Gallery. Bring photos for
indoor painting.

Bring your own bag lunch and beverages for each day. Coffee & tea will be provided
.
